III Seminário Nacional Afirmação das Diversidades: Relações Étnico-Raciais, Gênero, Juventudes e Inclusão de PNE’s – 2018
I Versão Internacional e II da RFEPCT.

O Afirmação das Diversidades: Relações Étnico-Raciais, Gênero, Juventudes e Inclusão de PNE’S tem sido um fórum privilegiado para o debate e aprofundamento das temáticas que pontuam as diversidades e as diferenças na sociedade brasileira, assim como em outros países. A ausência de políticas concretas e realizáveis para as juventudes, a segregação e exclusão das pessoas com necessidades educacionais específicas, assim como as desigualdades raciais e de gênero constituem variáveis importantes para a identificação, análise e denúncia das diferentes facetas das desigualdades estruturantes da sociedade brasileira.

Este evento reunirá professores/as/, pesquisadores/as, técnicos/as-administrativos/as estudiosos/as, discentes, organizações da sociedade civil e movimentos sociais nacionais e internacionais para construção de um diálogo propositivo e orientado pela tríade pesquisa, ensino e extensão, assim como pela interseccionalidade de classe, raça, gênero e diversidade sexual.

As atividades incluirão: painéis, mesas redondas, oficinas, minicursos, pôsters, lançamentos, atividades culturais e trabalhos orais distribuídos Grupos de Trabalho (GTs), de modo a possibilitar a interação de discentes e docentes da educação básica, da educação profissional, técnica e tecnológica, da graduação e pós-graduação e da Rede Federal de Educação Profissional Ciência e Tecnologia (RFEPCT).

Nesta edição do Afirmação das Diversidades de 2018 reafirmamos o compromisso de dar voz e vez aos discentes do ensino médio e ás juventudes em suas mais diversas expressões. Estamos introduzindo uma seção de pôsteres que acolhe também os trabalhos e perspectivas de alunos do ensino médio do CEFET, das Redes estaduais e municipais, das Redes particulares e instituições de ensino superior.  É também uma oportunidade para que estudantes de PIBIC Junior e outras modalidades se envolvam com os debates sobre relações étnico-raciais, inclusão, juventudes e diversidades.

Parte-se do princípio de que a diversidade é muito mais do que o conjunto das diferenças. Trata-se de uma construção social e cultural que é sempre perpassada por relações de poder. Portanto, afirmar as diversidades é assumir um compromisso histórico com as políticas de ação afirmativa, com o respeito às diferenças e à alteridade à medida que as sociedades do século XXI se tornam cada vez mais multifacetadas e complexas.

Neste sentido, acredita-se ser imperativo que as instituições de ensino engajem, de forma cada vez mais crescente, com o desenvolvimento de ações, programas e políticas institucionais que promovam a equidade de raça e gênero e a inclusão social e educacional em uma perspectiva dos direitos humanos e contra todas as formas de discriminação e racismo institucional.

Affirming Diversities: Ethnic-Racial Relations, Gender, Youth and the Inclusion of People with Disabilities has been a special forum for the debate and deepening of
the themes that highlight diversities and differences in Brazilian society, as well as in other countries. The lack of concrete and achievable policies for the youth, the
segregation and exclusion of people with disabilities and specific educational needs, as well as race and gender based inequalities are important variables for the identification,
analysis and to denounce the different dimensions of the structural inequities of Brazil´s society.

This event will bring together teachers, researchers, professionals, scholars, students, specialists, civil society organizations and national and international social movements to build a proactive and research-led dialogue to deepen and contextualize the meanings of the intersectionality of class, race, gender and sexual diversity.

Activities will include: panels, roundtables, workshops, minicourses, posters, cultural activities and papers distributed in Special Interest Groups (SIGs), in order to enable the interaction of students, professionals, K-12 teachers, professors and researchers. In this edition of the Affirming Diversities – 2018, we reaffirm the commitment to give voice to the high school students as well as the youth in their most diverse 1 Federal Network of Vocational Education, Science and Technology Institutions

expressions. We are introducing a poster section that welcomes the work and perspectives of CEFET high school students, but also State and Municipal Boards of Education, private networks and higher education institutions. It is also an opportunity for high school students with scholarships and other modalities to engage in discussions on ethnic-racial relations, inclusion, youth and diversity.

It is assumed that diversity is much more than the adding up of differences. It is a social and cultural construction that is always influenced by power relations. So to affirm diversity is to make a historic commitment to affirmative action policies and to combat racism, sexism and all forms of oppression. Means to respect the differences and otherness as the 21st-century societies become increasingly multifaceted and complex.

In this sense, it is imperative that educational institutions increasingly engage in the development of institutional actions, programs and policies that promote race and gender equity, as well as social and educational inclusion within the perspective of human rights and against all forms of discrimination and institutionalized racism and sexism.
